Home Care

Established in 1997, the Regional Medical Center’s (RMC) Home Care program serves Orangeburg, Calhoun and Bamberg counties and offers a wide range of in-home services to individuals and their families.

Home healthcare is usually prescribed to patients who are recovering from illness or surgery and are able to go home but require continued healthcare once released from the hospital. Home healthcare can offer individualized attention and an institutional level of care in a home environment.

The success of RMC’s home health program is due largely to its caring, professional staff. The staff understands that patients feel better about themselves when they are at home. Home Care allows patients and their families to have a direct role in the care and recovery process. The clinical expertise of Home Care staff is complemented by compassion for their patients, which, in turn, can also be measured by quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performances.

Home Care of RMC is a state-licensed, Medicare and Medicaid certified, Joint Commission accredited, hospital-based agency. Most costs for services are paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation, Veterans Administration insurance or private insurance. Patients may pay directly for services, or may be eligible for financial assistance.
