Mabry Center for Cancer Care

803-395-4600

An outpatient cancer treatment facility, the Mabry Center for Cancer Care at the Regional Medical Center offers the latest in radiation therapy to include IMRT (intensity modulated radiation therapy) and chemotherapy. In addition to the treatment of cancer, the center emphasizes personal care through educational programs, counseling and support groups.

The Mabry Center for Cancer Care is affiliated with MUSC Health, South Carolina’s most nationally recognized and comprehensive academic medical center. This partnership further enhances select healthcare services, including cancer care, for patients in the region.

Cancer Survivor Randy Maxwell

“I guess I was lucky. My doctor detected prostate cancer at my annual check-up … I had options to go other places, but the Mabry Center staff made me feel comfortable and confident in what they proposed to do. Dr. G (Dr. Goetowski) was great from the get-go … I don’t know how it could’ve been better. They took good care of me,” said High School Principal and Cancer Survivor Randy Maxwell. But the best part of the experience for Maxwell is that now he is cancer-free.

Cancer Patient Carolyn Thomas

Carolyn Thomas was driving home from visiting family when she had a seizure-like episode. A CT scan revealed a brain tumor. After surgery, radiation treatment was recommended. Carolyn turned to the Mabry Center for Cancer Care at the Regional Medical Center. “It was easier to get my treatments closer to home,” said Carolyn, a St. Matthews resident. “The connection between Dr. Goetowski and Dr. Brunson at RMC, and Dr. Lindhorst at MUSC has been good. They’re all on the same page.” Her follow-up scans are showing great results.
